Most relocation sites describe Watertown the way a chamber of commerce brochure does: charming small town, growing fast, 45 minutes from Syracuse, low cost of living. All of that is technically true. None of it is the actual answer.

The traffic patterns shift on Friday afternoons when soldiers head out for four-day weekends. Half the people you'll meet at your kid's school have lived somewhere else in the last three years and will live somewhere else again in the next three.
